Inspired to help not only geriatric patients, but their families as well, Dr. Hoinkis serves as the owner of Bergen Geriatric Care, LLC. In this capacity, she provides patient care and a variety of health care services in several different outreach settings throughout Bergen County such as assisted living facilities and long term care and rehabilitation homes which were particularly hard hit during the world pandemic of 2020.
Dr. Hoinkis's heart has always been to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. She has worked vigilantly and particularly closely with family members and staff throughout the pandemic to ensure not only the medical needs of her patients are met, but in addition established a committee of volunteers to reach out to our isolated patient population to provide them with crucially needed virtual companionship in order to ensure their mental and emotional well-being as well. During her spare time, Dr. Hoinkis contributes as a volunteer through medical missions including the Philippine Healthcare System.
An expert in her field, Dr. Hoinkis holds a Doctorate in Medicine from Universitaet des Saarlandes. She subsequently completed her residency in family medicine at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, an affiliate of Hackensack Meridian Health, and later became a certified medical director as well as a hospice medical director. To remain aware of developments within her field, Dr. Hoinkis retains her professional alignment with the American Geriatric Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, and the American Academy of Hospice and Medicine.
